The new 2018 Jeep Chief is almost here, looking cool as usual and giving you a feeling of nostalgia, reminiscent of retro styled jeeps of the past. You gather that from its design concept you can safely assume a sleek retro themed wagon with a full set of modern hardware.
2018 Jeep Chief Concept – Design and Features
Jeep lovers will appreciate the thick, sturdy wheels that look ready to rip up the road and provide maximum turf tearing pleasure. The 2018 Wrangler Unlimited ladder frame has solid Axel underpinnings from which the chief is built upon. The Chief will most likely not need much in the exterior modifications department unless you remove the front and rear frame extensions.
The A and B pillars are mostly made of solid metal, and the C-pillars body starting from still height all the way to the back are laid from fiberglass, including the tailgate. The roof height has shrunk by 2 inches, with the windshield and doors also to keep the right proportions.
The most notable difference for the doors themselves is that the designers removed the exterior handles which make the 2018 Jeep Chief look like a two-door-vehicle. The sleek design combined with the chopped C-pillar will definitely give you that initial two door impression, but upon closer inspection, you will see they are indeed there. There are no handles on the back doors, but with no back windows either you should be able to let yourself if you can yourself up over the door that is.
With no glass in the rear door, window openings the chief is going to be the cool vehicle beyond just the super design. You can enjoy the breeze from the back as you ride down trails and brag about the Chief being literally the coolest jeep on the block. Just don’t put too much stock in its ability to keep your toes warm on those cold winter mornings.
The 2018 Jeep Chief may require you to find the right twist and bend combination to get your body in as you climb up into the lowered roofline and an altitude boosted by the 2-inch lift kit. The 37 inch Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 tires are quite impressive indeed. No matter what way you go with, once you manage to climb up and into the seat of the Wrangler a Hawaiian beach themed lens brings a colorful splash of joy to the interior.
The fact is that the 2018 Jeep Chief is difficult if not impossible to feel saddened by in its presence work of art. You may shed a tear of joy or begin to smile with a long, happy grinning expression for hours on end.
